Manchester United are close to signing the Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, according to reports in Spain.

It is believed United are set to pay around £30m for the 24-year-old Spaniard, whom they tried to recruit last summer, before his fee rises at the end of this month due to the terms of his contract.

It is also understood the deal could be wrapped up in the next few days…
